03.08. - Moab and Arches

We are still in Moab and ALIVE...! though since I had been complaining that I just could´t see any more of the desert and I couldn´t do any more hikes, Klaus finally believed me and we  stayed most of our morning at the campground. We had a nice breakfast with brownies, coffee and juice and then we read (me), played computer (the kids) and worked (Klaus). At around noon we went to play minigolf and then jumped in the pool. Quite refreshing! Especially since we have heard that in Austria, they´re having a record heat wave with 39,9 C degrees!
Afterwards we went to downtown Moab (one main street... that´s it or as Markus put it "You sure can´t get lost in Moab). We had a nice big lunch at Fiesta Mexicana: carne asada, guacamole, red rice, refried beans, pico de gallo and corn tortillas. (That way I still get a little bit of Mexico.)

We walked around Moab: before there used to be a few uranium processing plants but they stopped that, and now Moab lives on tourism, so the whole town is full with souvernir and T-shirt shops, cafés, restaurants, Indian crafts and adventures organizers.

At around five o´clock we headed to Arches National Park to do some sightseeing: We went to see the Balancing Rock, walked to the Double Arch and took a lot of pictures. We also stopped at the Delicate Arch.

Back at the campground we read some more and went to bed.
